The Rule of the Ruler

Measuring tapes, rulers, cups, and scales, we use them to analyze, study, compare, and contrast things. We calculate and conclude. Great for school, not so great when we apply those same principles to people. Check out Matthew 7: 1, 2 (NIV):

“ ‘ Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.’ “

What measure are you using on those around you?

Athletics     Looks       Academics      Popularity        Clothes, house, car, electronics

Kindness         Truthfulness    Self-control     Love    Obedience       Friendliness

Jesus tells us that “…with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

How do you measure up to your own standard?

Is your standard of measurement a good one?

Take some time today and think about it. Most of us desire a little grace and mercy from others, especially if we are having a tough day. Are you willing to give that same grace and mercy to others? Hang in there. The Holy Spirit is right at your elbow and ready to help. Call on Him.
